Glenn Wyatt

Glenn Wyatt, 87, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Monday morning, May 8, 2023 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center.

A native of Mitchell County, he was born April 18, 1936 to the late Lee and Nellie Buchanan Wyatt. He is also preceded in death by four siblings, Cartha Mae Turner, Ruby Branch, Carl Wyatt, and Bernie Wyatt.

Glenn served as a paratrooper and tank driver in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Munich, Germany. He worked since he was 15 years old and will be remembered for his strong work ethic. He retired from Broyhill. Glenn was a talented mechanic. He enjoyed working on cars and lawn mowers. He was also an avid football fan.

 He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Ruth Greene Wyatt; three children, Sharon Trantham (Mark), Susan Farris (Mark), and Richard Wyatt; two grandchildren, Michael Frick and Kirby Farris; and one sister, Louella Harris.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A graveside service will follow at McDowell Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m.
