Glenda Burleson

     Glenda Jean Farr Burleson, 82, of Marion, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville.

     Glenda was born in McDowell County, NC on April 11, 1941, to the late Kelly Farr and Dolly Patterson Farr. She was married to the late Bobby Burleson, Sr. and was a member of Fairview Free Will Baptist Church in Nebo. She enjoyed traveling, watching western tv shows, and was an avid fan of Elvis Presley. Most of all, Glenda enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed. 

      In addition to her husband and parents, Glenda was preceded in death by four brothers, Donald Farr, Von Farr, Jerry Farr, and Warren Farr; and two sisters, Sybil Williams and Frankie Elliott.

     She is survived by three children, Bobby Burleson, Jr. (Kara), Dana Strickland (Mark), and Jennifer Gibson (Zack); four brothers, Kelly Farr (Barbara), Mike Farr (Janice), Pat Farr, and James Farr; and three grandchildren, Chelsea Strickland, Jacob Burleson, and Megan Burleson. 

     A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, March 18, 2024, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Fairview Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
