Georgie Ellen Johnson Galloway

Georgie Ellen Johnson Galloway, 92, of Old Fort, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2026 at Mountain Ridge Health & Rehabilitation.

A native of Old Fort, she was born on April 5, 1934 to the late Jarrett Anderson Johnson and Dorothy Morris Johnson.

Known as a very hard worker, Georgie worked at Parker’s Hosiery, Columbia Carolina, and at Old Fort Finishing where she spent over twenty years. She was very involved in her community and was a member of the Old Fort Ruritan and the Red Hat Society. A woman of great faith, Georgie was a longtime member of Catawba Falls Baptist Church. Her family was very important to her, and she always made time to be involved in their lives, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Galloway; one brother, Edward Johnson; and one sister, Margaret “Jerrie” Ferguson.

She is survived by her two sons, Jarrett Galloway (Katherine) and Allen Galloway (Sandra); four grandchildren, Tabitha Johnson (Greg), Tiffany Morgan (BJ), Cody Galloway, and MaKenzie Boone (Hudson); four great-grandchildren, Paisley Morgan, Oaklee Morgan, Everly Morgan, and Megan Johnson; one brother, Buck Johnson (Patsy); and several special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Heath Ammons officiating. Interment will be held at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
