Georgia Harris

     Georgia Iwana Phillips Harris, 91, of Old Fort, passed away, Sunday, May 14, 2023, at her residence.

     Mrs. Harris was born in Haywood County, NC on July 27, 1931, to the late George Phillips and Bessie Barnes Phillips. She was married to the late Millard Harris. She was a member of Living Waters Tabernacle and was a hard worker throughout her entire life. She enjoyed flowers, cooking, and family gatherings. She will be greatly missed.

     In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Howard Harris; a great-great granddaughter, Lilly; three brothers; and seven sisters.  

     Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Ivory Warren (George); a son, Ralph Harris (Ellie); a daughter in law, Barbra Harris; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

     A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 18, 2023, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Pastor Keith Jamison will officiate. Burial will follow at Davistown Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Old Fort. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
