Gary Wayne Russell

Gary Wayne Russell, age 52, of Pineview Road in Fairview, passed away Monday, May 25, 2026 at Care Partners Solace Center in Asheville.

 Born on October 18, 1973 in McDowell County, he was the son of Ronnie Wayne Russell and Wilma Cable Russell. 

Gary enjoyed being outdoors, cooking, and grilling steaks. He loved his family and family get-togethers. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and watching football games on t.v. 

Left to cherish his memories are his parents; Ronnie Wayne Russell and Wilma Cable Russell, his daughter; Makayla Arrowood and husband, Austin, his sisters; Jenifer Worley and Shannon Obar, his brother; Michael Russell, a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

 A memorial service will be held on June 9, 2026 at 6:00 p.m., at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Marion, North Carolina.
