Gail Simmons Miller

Gail Simmons Miller, 79, of Marion, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Mission Hospital McDowell.

She was born in McDowell County on August 1, 1946 to the late Charlie Hill Simmons and Bertie Miller Simmons.

Gail devoted over 30 years of her professional life to the insurance business where she was well respected by all. Beyond her career, Gail was known for her warm personality and her unwavering love for her pets, Charlie and BB, who brought joy and comfort to her daily life.

Gail was very active in Pilot International as long as she was able, where she shared her time and talents to support and uplift those around her. In her leisure time, Gail found happiness by the ocean, where the beach became her cherished retreat. She enjoyed sewing, growing flowers, and playing card games with her dear friends. She will be dearly missed by all.

She is survived by her children, Lisa Byrd (Jeff) and Mark Miller (Melissa); four grandchildren, Danielle Radford (Greg), Adam Miller (Makayla), Andrew Byrd (Ava), and Anna Miller; one great-grandchild, Silas Radford as well as one on the way; and her significant other, John Lewis.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A graveside service, officiated by Rev. Philip Tate and Rev. Brian Bird will follow at Nebo First Baptist Church Cemetery.
