Fred Roger Sanders

Fred Roger Sanders, 80, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville.

Fred was born in Caldwell County, NC on October 9, 1944, to the late George and Laura Cardwell Sanders. He was married to his beloved wife of 52 years, Wanda Faye Sanders, who passed away in 2016. Fred was a member of Garden Creek Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and especially, hunting. He was a dedicated family man and was loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his wife and parents, Fred was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley May Hartley; and two brothers, Alan Ray Sanders and Roy A. Sanders.

He is survived by three sons, Fred Henry Sanders (Karen), Ricky Brown (Sandy), and Jeff Brown (Marie); two brothers, James Sanders and Robert Sanders; eight grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many other extended family members.

In accordance with Fred’s wishes, no services will be conducted.
