Fred Thomas Brown

     Fred Thomas Brown, 84, of Marion, NC, passed away Monday, May 23, 2022 at Dosher Hospital in Southport.

     Mr. Brown was born in Avery County, NC on May 27, 1937 to the late Woodrow Thomas Brown and Ella Marie Duncan Brown. He was married to his wife of 66 years, Annie Ellison Brown. He retired from Marion Fire Department after 30 years of dedicated service. Mr. Brown was an active member of West Court Baptist Church, where he served as a longtime usher. He was an avid sports fan who loved baseball and fishing. He enjoyed traveling to the ocean and to Cherokee. He will be greatly missed.

     In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a sister, Arizona Hollifield.

     Survivors include seven children, Nancy B. Suttles (Max), Cindy Elliott (Dennis), Linda Robinson (Jimmy), Debbie Boone (David), Tom Brown (Paige), Robert Earl Brown, and Rick Brown (Misty); three sisters, Dorothy Mace, Willa Mae Williams, and Mary Ann Teaster; seventeen grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

     A funeral will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2022 at West Court Baptist Church. Pastor Jeff Burchette will officiate. Burial will follow at West Court Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the Church.
