Frances Louise Conner Reel, 73, of Marion, passed away Monday, April 20, 2026 at Mission Hospital.

She was born in McDowell County on October 27, 1952 to the late John and Ethel Arrowood Conner.

Frances enjoyed gardening and working with her flowers. She will be remembered for her love of arts and crafts. She would often be found baking cakes, painting, or making ceramics. Above all, Frances loved her family. Her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, and spending time with them was something she truly cherished. She will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Junior Reel; two sons, Michael David Reel and Kevin Dwayne Reel; a daughter, Thurlie Elaine Reel; one brother, Charles Conner; and three sisters, Pauline Revis, Pat Stines, and Bobbie Hill.

Left to cherish her memories are four granddaughters, Krissy Loftis (Corey), Bryce Reel, Kayli Reel, and Abigail Reel; two great-grandchildren, Kai and Karsyn Loftis; four brothers, Clyde Conner, Roger Conner, Bufford Conner, and Johnny Conner; a number of nieces and nephews; and special extended family members, Kim Reel, Billie Jo Frady, Allison Harmon, and Kinsley Harmon.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Marion Church of Christ, located at 765 State Street in Marion. A private burial will be held at a later date at Sugar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
