Faye Lillie Murphy Wilson

Faye Lillie Murphy Wilson, 90, born in Yancey County on April 9, 1935, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2025 peacefully with her daughters and special friends by her side at Deer Park Health & Rehabilitation in Nebo.

Faye was a loving mother, but her true treasure was being a grandmother and great-grandmother. She leaves behind a legacy of hard work, old-time values, and being kind to others. Faye, who was always thankful for her many blessings, was always looking for ways to help others. She enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Murphy and Emeline Wilson Murphy; her husband, Alvin James Wilson; three sons, Eugene James Wilson, Ricky Wilson, and Kevin Wilson; and one daughter, Susie Tipton.

She is survived by two daughters, Naomi Stevens (Ronnie) and Genia Johnson (Matt); ten grandchildren, Brent Spencer, Billy Wilson, Chris Wilson, Josh Wilson, Cody Wilson, Kasey Wilson, Trent Johnson, Luke Johnson, Joe Johnson, and Hank Johnson; and numerous great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, and details will be forthcoming.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Deer Park for the excellent measure of care provided to Faye and all the family.
