Everett O'Neal Cable

January 15, 1939 — July 1, 2021

Mr. Everett O’Neal Cable, age 82, of Marion, North Carolina, departed to be with Lord on the morning of Thursday, July 01, 2021 while surrounded by family at his residence. Born in Forney Creek in Swain County, North Carolina on January 15, 1939, he was the son of the late Wince and Maggie Laws Cable.



In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Fincher; and three brothers, James Cable, Kenneth Cable and Danny Cable.



Everett, who was a faithful Christian, husband, father, papaw and brother; enjoyed working outdoors with his cattle, farming and gardening. Never having met a stranger, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Everett has attended Zion Hill Baptist Church since 1944 and became a member 1950 and proudly served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and an usher. He was a veteran of the United States Army.



He is survived by his loving wife of 62 ½ years, Geneva Cable; three children, Scott Cable (Denise), Penny Yearwood and Ronnie Cable (Melody); ten grandchildren, Elizabeth Cable, LaChrea Yearwood, Kayla Cable, DaLee Holley (Bryan), Morgan Cable, Arielle McLaughlin (Caleb), Abbey Crisp (Payton), Drew Dixon, Logan Dixon and Levi Duncan; and five great grandchildren, Peyton Holley, Adalyn Cable, McKynlee Cable, Blakeley McLaughlin and RayLynn Holley. Everett is also survived by seven siblings, Mary Moorefield (Bill), Ila Lewis (Jerry), Gerald Cable (Helga), Wilma Russell (Ronnie), Donald Cable (Faye), Marleene Cable and Eddie Cable (Genny); and several nieces and nephews.



A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Cable will be held on Saturday, July 03, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Tom Walker and chairman of the deacons Mr. Paul Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., two hours prior to the service, at the church.
