Emily Janice Stackable

Emily Janice Hollifield Stackable, 47, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 13, 2021 at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care in Valdese.

She was born in McDowell County on May 15, 1973 to Jerry Hollifield and Janice Tyo Hollifield.

Emily was a published author who had published two books. She will be remembered as a good, honest friend who was very caring. She was a wonderful mother, and she treated many as her own.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Mark Robert Stackable; two children, Leslie Janice Stackable and Johnny Robert Stackable; one grandchild, Madilynn Emily Gilliam; and three siblings, Matt Hollifield, Becky Roper, and Jennifer Baker.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service & Crematory in Marion at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Rick Street officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
