Elizabeth Honeycutt Smith

Elizabeth Honeycutt Smith, 90, of Marion, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Deer Park Health and Rehabilitation.

A native of Yancey County, she was born October 22, 1932 to the late Geter Honeycutt and Cora Bell Honeycutt. Elizabeth worked for over 40 years at Burlington Industries. She loved sharing stories and had a particular fondness for telling Bible stories. She also enjoyed traveling throughout her lifetime and will be remembered for her witty sense of humor. She liked gardening and canning.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Smith; son, Don Smith; grandson, Jason Lewis; son-in-law, Jim Pritchard; and eleven siblings.

Those left to cherish her memories are three children, Doris Pritchard, Denise Pearson (Bob), David Smith (Regina); daughter-in-law, Amy Smith; one brother, Melvin Honeycutt; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Elizabeth will be laid to rest privately at McDowell Memorial Park beside her husband Arthur.
