Edith Priscilla Maney Ridley

Edith Priscilla Maney Ridley, of Lake Lure, peacefully departed this life on Monday morning, March 25, 2024.

She was born in Clay County on January 29 to the late George Maney and Dorothy Parker Maney. Edith formerly worked in the furniture industry. She was a faithful member of Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church. She received great joy by working with her flowers and plants. Above all else, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, John F. Ridley; one son, Mike Ridley and Jeannie Ridley; son-in-law, Johnny P. Long; two grandchildren, Dustin Long (Yvette) and Jennifer Long Shelton (William Shelton); five great grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Hall.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Beam Celebration Center with Rev. Jamie Pascarella officiating. Burial will follow at Montford Cove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m.
