Eddie "Strawberry" Johnson

Eddie “Strawberry” Johnson, 67, of Marion, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025 at his residence.

He was born in Guilford County on August 21, 1958 to the late Robert Lee Johnson and Lois Jean Sheehan Johnson, and he was raised by Ruth and Max Fortune.

He enjoyed working on old cars and was an avid horse rider. Known as a hard worker, Strawberry formerly worked in sawmills. He was a kind-hearted man who was always willing to help others. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor.

He is survived by three children, Misty Mitchell, Corey Mitchell, and Dustin Thomason; six grandchildren, Zury, River, Bodey, Crison, Aiden, and Maddie’ and one sister, Robbie McDaniel.

A funeral service will be held at Solid Rock Free Will Baptist Church on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Johnson Holler Cemetery.
