Eddie Ray Epley

Eddie Ray Epley, 64, of Marion, passed away Monday January 3, 2022 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City, North Carolina.

Eddie was born in Rutherford County, North Carolina on October 8, 1957 to the late Lellon Epley and Wilma Jarrett Epley. He was a member of Nebo First Baptist Church. Eddie was also a member of The Mcdowell Amature Radio Club. He retired with over thirty years of service to The McDowell County Emergency Medical Services. Eddie enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping, boating and family picnics. He was also known as a great cook.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis Epley and Johnny Epley.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Patricia Gibson Epley; son, Mike Gibson (Wendy): two brothers Ronald Epley (Sandra) and Archie Epley (Pam); four grandchildren, Kali Gibson, Grant Helms (Brittany), Mackinzie Phillips and Hayden Barrier and five great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Chapel of Beams Funeral Service in Marion with The Rev. Doug Worley officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service, at the funeral home.
