Dwight Melvin Neal

Dwight Melvin Neal, 73, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at his sister’s residence in Old Fort.

He was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on December 19, 1948 to the late Melvin William Neal and Mae Melinda Suttles Neal.

Dwight worked in the textile industry most of his life. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed raising chickens. He enjoyed watching racing and being outdoors.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Jason Neal.

He is survived by two daughters, Loretta Jean McCall and Hope Melinda Neal Frye; two grandchildren, Ethan Frye and Adam McCall; and four sisters, Barbara Ann Edwards, Nancy Marie Smith, Martha Faye Paige, and Mary Elizabeth Smith.

A family gathering will be held on Thursday, June 02, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Old Fort.
