Douglas Carl Finley

On the night of Wednesday, April 13, 2022, Douglas Carl Finley went home to glory at the Robbins Center in Hudson, N.C. A native of McDowell County, Douglas was born on March 16, 1961 to Pauline Ledford Hollifield and the late Jasper Carl Finley.

He is preceded in death by one brother, Arthur Ray Davis and one sister, Debbie Roland.

Douglas was a member of Grace Baptist Church for twenty-one years. He was a proud United States Army veteran and never met a stranger. He enjoyed going to yard sales, trade lots, working in the yard and antique hunting. Douglas was known as a hard worker, loving husband, son, father and grandfather.

Along with his mother Pauline, he is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Ellen Finley; one daughter, Stephanie Fisher (Brandon); one sister, Nancy Smith; two brothers, Roy Finley and Kevin Finley. Also surviving Douglas are two grandchildren, Harlo Fisher and Gracelyn Fisher.

A service will be held at Grace Baptist Church on Monday, April 18, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with Reverend Eric Grindstaff officiating.
