Dorothy Anne Steljes

It is with deep sorrow and steadfast faith that we announce the passing of Dorothy Steljes, a beloved sister, and devoted servant of the Lord, who went home to be with her Savior on April 30, 2025, at the age of 72.

Born on November 8, 1952, Dorothy devoted her life to Jesus Christ and to the call of the ministry. From the moment she gave her heart to the Lord, she lived each day with purpose, and an unwavering passion for sharing God’s love. Her ministry was not just her calling—it was her very heartbeat.

Dorothy preached with deep compassion, and prayed with enduring faith. Her wisdom and kindness touched countless lives, offering comfort to the broken, strength to the weary, and hope to the lost. Through every sermon, prayer, and act of love, she reflected the light of Christ.

Though we mourn her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is now in the eternal presence of the One she loved and served so faithfully. Her legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to live on in the many lives she touched.

Dorothy is survived by her brother Robert, his wife Terrie, and their children, Robert, Danielle, John and John’s wife Bryanna, along with her extended family and numerous friends and spiritual children who were forever changed by her life and ministry.

A funeral for Dorothy will be held on Saturday, May 3, 11:00 o’clock at Beams Funeral Service in Marion, NC with receiving of friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00. Interment will follow at McDowell Memorial Gardens. All are welcome to join the family at Dorothy’s gravesite.
