Doris Faye Hughes Morgan

Doris Faye Hughes Morgan, 86, of Marion, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, SC.

A native of Marion, Doris was born September 15, 1937 to the late Fuce Henry Hughes and Lillian Taylor Hughes.

Doris retired after many years of service as a teacher’s assistant and bus driver from West Marion Elementary School. She was a longtime, faithful member of Providence Church. She was a very active lady who enjoyed shopping, cooking, visiting the beach, and going for rides. She had a huge heart for animals, especially dogs and cats. Watching hummingbirds brought her great joy. Most of all, Doris loved her Lord and her family wholeheartedly.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Morgan; twin grandchildren, Kaitlin and Taylor Morgan; and three brothers, Dean Hughes, Willie Hughes, and Bobby Hughes.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Morgan (Rebecca) and Greg Morgan (Sheila); three grandchildren, Rebecca Grace Morgan, Chasity Bright (Charlie), and Joshua Reese (Rebecca); three great grandchildren, Zackary, Bryson, and Logan; two brothers, Johnny Hughes (Carol) and Ricky Hughes (Ann); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Providence Church Cemetery with Rev. Michael Harrill, Jr. officiating.
