Donna Jean Shepard

Donna Jean Shepard, 67, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center.

A native of Marion, she was born January 31, 1956 to the late John Shepard and Libby Smith Shepard. A granddaughter, Brooke Buchanan, also precedes her in death. Donna enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Taking care of her grandchildren brought her the most joy. She spent her free time canning and working on scrapbooks. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by two children, Jeremy Johnson and Nikki Buchanan and husband Travis; three grandchildren, Jacob Johnson, Rosetta Buchanan, and Natalie Buchanan; and four siblings, Dennis Shepard, Ricky Shepard, William Shepard, and Sandy Peterkin.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Going Home Free Will Baptist Church on Yancey Street in Marion. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Duncan officiating.
