Donald Jacob Hilzendager

Donald Jacob Hilzendager, 59, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Baptist Hospital after a brief battle with stage IV pancreatic cancer.

A native of Summerville, South Carolina, Donnie was born February 20, 1964 to Donald Jacob Hilzendager and Dorothy Kain Hilzendager.

Donnie owned and operated DLH Global for 25 years and was talented with all things graphic design. He never did anything that did not involve his family. His grandchildren meant the world to him, and he was always present at their ballgames. Most of all, Donnie loved the Lord with all his heart. He was a member of New Manna Baptist Church where he faithfully served in whatever capacity he was needed. He loved his pastor and being of service to him. Donnie also enjoyed singing and cooking, especially breakfast for his family. Poppie was loved so much by his family and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Lisa Blankenship Hilzendager; six children, Ashley Dischinger (Eric), Trey Hilzendager (Mel), Kaitlin Petsinger (Austin), Josh Lovik (Candace), Emily Sanders (Justin), and Whitney Mace; grandchildren, Xavier Lovik, Adrea Lovik, GraceLynn Lovik, Drake Sanders, Isabelle Dischinger, and one on the way; and three siblings, Angela Riley (Ed), Darlene Cowlishaw (Glen), and David Hilzendager.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at New Manna Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Shirley officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service, from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
