Denson Robinson

In the early morning hours of Monday, March 14, 2022, Denson Robinson passed away at Memorial Campus. He was born in Yancey County on January 20, 1934 to the late William and Pearl McIntosh Robinson.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, JoAnna Robinson; a  step-son, Glenn Young and a daughter-in-law, Melody Robinson.

Denson was a member of West Court Baptist Church and was an avid golfer. He enjoyed traveling, watching Nascar and working in his garden. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-three years, Joyce Robinson; two children, Anita Difatta (John) and Michael Denson Robinson; two step-children, Celia Hammond (Don) and Terry Young; daughter-in-law, Becky Young and one sister, Meldeen Shuford (Donald). Also surviving Denson are five grandchildren, Jacob Robinson, Michael Milton, Michael Glaab, William Glaab and Kyle Difatta; four step grandchildren, Andrew Mackey, Daniel Mackey, Michelle Autrey and Ben Young; ten great-grandchilden and nine step-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at West Court Baptist Church with Reverend Jeff Burchette officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., two hours prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Robinson Cemetery.
