David “Wahoo” Osbon, 55, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2023 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center after an extended illness.
He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 5, 1967 to the late Tobin Wayne Osbon and the late Linda Aston Haney. David moved to Marion as a teenager and made it his lifelong home.
A beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, David cherished and loved his family and friends. Above all, he loved and trusted the Lord. He was the owner and operator of Soundshaker Productions, a light and sound engineer, producing thousands of concerts with regional and national touring acts. David could be found behind the soundboard at Wayneo’s Silver Bullet on any given Saturday night. When he wasn’t at the rock show, he was rocking on Lake James or watching his favorite Pittsburgh Steelers.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Wayne Osbon; stepdaughter, Sara Rae Key; and stepfather, John Sherman Haney, Jr.
He is survived by four children, Melinda Paige Flynn, Joseph Tyler Osbon, Jared Blake Osbon, and Christian Jade Osbon; two grandchildren, Bella Flynn and Elijah Flynn; three siblings, Barbara Jean Forbes (Sean), Robert Bryan Osbon (Vicki), and his twin sister, Linda Osbon Bost (Bill); stepmother, Moneca Osbon; numerous nieces and nephews; his fiancé, Kellie Arrowood; and many dear friends.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. A private family burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m.
