David Worth Cox, Jr.

David Worth Cox, Jr., 80, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Monday, May 02, 2022 at Autumn Care of Marion.

He was born on March 22, 1942 to the late Worth Cox, Sr. and Mabel Hollifield Cox. He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Cox Mills.

David was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He was an avid reader, beekeeper, and coin collector. David will be remembered as a storyteller, whether his stories were true or not. He also enjoyed gardening. He planted everything and often shared with family and friends. David enjoyed adventures with his grandchildren and spent a lot of time with them.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan Cox Roberts (John); six grandchildren, Leigh Morgan (Joe), Carrie Mills, Paige Mingle (Caleb), Alex Towe, Cody Roberts (Kenzie), and Owen Roberts; ten great grandchildren and one on the way; his sister, Betena Ross (Leeray); and a special niece and nephew, Tracy and Troy Ross.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
