David Franklin Chapman

David Franklin Chapman, age 61, of Old Fort, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Charles George VA Medical Center’s Hospice and Palliative Care in Asheville.  A native of Buncombe County, North Carolina, born November 10, 1956 to Betty Sorrells Chapman of Marion, North Carolina and the late David W. Chapman. 

For over 40 years, David was a long-haul truck driver for several companies and had driven from coast to coast.  He was a veteran of the United States Army. 

In addition to his mother, he was survived by one son, Marcus Chapman of Marion; one sister, Kathy Nanney (Rick) of Marion; two brothers Tim Chapman (Debi) and John Chapman, all of Marion.  He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews; and his childhood friend, Jimmy Countis.

In keeping with Mr. Chapman’s wishes, no services are planned.
