Darrell Delane Hazelwood

Darrell Delane Hazelwood, 80, of Old Fort, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord with his wife by his side on Monday, October 10, 2022 at the Charles George VA Medical Center.

He was born in Stuart, Virginia on December 01, 1941 to the late William and Edith Hall Hazelwood.

Darrell was known as an honest, hardworking provider who loved his family. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as a carpenter. Darrell enjoyed working crossword puzzles. A loving husband, father, brother, and papaw, he was always willing to help others. He will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A brother, Michael Hazelwood, also precedes him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Martha Johnson Hazelwood; son, Jason Hazelwood; his special grandson, Layton Hazelwood; and three siblings, Geraldine McPeak (Bob), Perry Hazelwood (Millie), and Lewis Hazelwood.

In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held.
