Daniel "Dan" Samuel Gilliam

Daniel “Dan” Samuel Gilliam, age 87, of Nebo, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Rose Hill Retirement and Rehabilitation. He was born on January 9, 1935 to the late John and Connie Morris Gilliam.

He is preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Haynes, Evelyn Craig, Vena Gilliam, Blonnie Buchanan, Ruby Gilliam, and two brothers, Frank Gilliam and Holmes Gilliam.

Dan was a faithful and active member of Cross Mill Pentecostal Holiness Church for over fifty years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Dan was a kind and outgoing person who loved the Lord.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of sixty-eight years, Doris Ledbetter Gilliam; two children, Roger L. Gilliam (Karen) and Reverend Keith H. Gilliam (Lana); three sisters, Norma Bruner, Doris Miller (Clyde) and June Church (Phillip) and two grandchildren, Jennifer Decker (Bradley) and John Gilliam (Sidney).

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service with Reverend Keith Gilliam officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Montford Cove Baptist Church Cemetery.
