Courtney Harrod

On the evening of Wednesday, December 09, 2020, while surrounded by her parents, Courtney Frizzell Harrod, age 32, of Canton, North Carolina, made that wonderful cross over into Heaven at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  The daughter of Darrell Frizzell of Canton and Kathy Cagle Searcy (Bobby) of Waynesville, North Carolina, Courtney was born in Waynesville on December 30, 1987. 

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Lynn Cagle, Sr.; and maternal grandmother, Jean Cagle.

An avid outdoors ethusist, Courtney had a love for all animals, especially owls.  She enjoyed flowers and going ginseng hunting.  During her journey, she touched many hearts along the way.  Having always stood out in a crowd, Courtney truly loved her kids and family. 

She is survived by, in addition to her parents, her husband, Brian Austin Harrod; two sons, Ashton Gage Searcy of Waynesville and Kameron Lynn Frizzell of Canton; one brother, Cody Frizzell (Debra) of Waynesville; paternal grandparents, Frank and Pat Frizzell of Canton; and one niece, Harper Frizzell of Waynesville.  Courtney is also survived by step grandmother, Gail Cagle of Old Fort; one aunt, Tammy Frizzell of Canton; four uncles, Lynn Cagle, Jr. (Staci) of Waynesville, Tommy Frizzell (Ellen) of Canton, Landon C. Cloer of Old Fort; and Matthew Gaddy, of Old Fort. 

A celebration of Courtney’s life will be held at a later date and will be announced once it has been finalized.
