Cora Lee Wilson Thomas

Cora Lee Wilson Thomas, 81, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Friday, January 27, 2023 at her home.

She was born in Yancey County on August 25, 1941 to the late Lyda Wilson and Faye Dale Wilson.

Cora worked for many years as a registered nurse at Broughton Hospital where she retired. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening, and reading and was a wonderful caregiver. She mostly loved her family and will be missed by all that knew her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Benny Thomas; and a son, Christopher Eric Thomas.

She is survived by two children, Jennifer Thomas and Charles Wesley Thomas; six grandchildren, Megan Thomas, Morgan Thomas, Sydney Jackson, Avery Thomas, Riley Thomas, and Ramsey Thomas; six great grandchildren; and three siblings, Gary Wilson, Michael Wilson, and Becky Roland.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
