Lee Elliott

     Conley “Lee” Elliott, 60, of Marion, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022, at Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville.

     Lee was born in McDowell County, NC, on July 11, 1962, to the late Conley V. and Marie Elliott. He was married to his wife of 19 years, Katharine Elliott. Lee was the owner and operator of Elliott Trucking. He was a member and deacon of West Marion Baptist Church. He had a beautiful singing voice and loved to sing with the Church. He enjoyed watching movies, was actively involved with the Boy Scouts, enjoyed deep sea fishing, and never knew a stranger. He will be greatly missed.

     Survivors include his wife, Kathy Elliott of Marion; three children, Erik (Alisha) Rasmussen of Locust, Keith (Kristina) Rasmussen of Morganton, and Kelly (Ronald “Tink”) King of Morganton; a sister, Kay (Fred) Cline of Marion; a brother, Mika (Dale) Elliott of Arden; four grandchildren, Brendon and Isabelle of Locust and Cadence and Cole of Morganton; his mother and father in law, Wilbur and Betty Barnes of Boiling Springs, SC; a nephew, Mika (Jennifer) Elliott of Hickory; a niece, Jennifer (Kenny Baboso) Elliott of Washington State; and his fur babies, Roxy, Lacey, and Ecko.

     A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Rev. Coy Jeans and Rev. Heath Ammons will officiate. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
