Clover Elliott McDaniel

Clover Ethel Elliott McDaniel, 100, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Henderson Care Center in Forest City.

She was born November 17, 1922 in Rutherford County to the late Claude and Clotilda Frady Elliott. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Grady McDaniel; her sons, Dale Newman McDaniel, Russell Eugene McDaniel, and Reid Allen McDaniel; sisters, Clarvis Kelly and Corrine Strickland; brothers, Claude Elliott, Jr., Calvin Elliott, and Cluster Elliott; two grandchildren, Richard McDaniel and Amber Dalton; and a great-great grandson, Cameron.

Clover was the oldest member of Zion Hill Baptist Church where she attended for many years. She loved her church family, especially her Sunday School class. She enjoyed baking and was talented with wedding cakes. She loved quilting, gardening, working in her flowers, and canning.

She is survived by her daughter, Beatrice Bright (Johnny); eight grandchildren, Morris McDaniel, Tina McDaniel Nichols, Kevin Bright, Ava Bright, John Bright, Jr., Adam Dalton, Travis McDaniel, and Steven McDaniel; and a number of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by daughter-in-laws, Della Mae McDaniel and Esther McDaniel.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Tom Walker and Mr. Paul Baker officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. Burial will be private at Bills Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
