Clarence Dwayne Stuart

     Clarence “Dwayne” Stuart, 68, of Rutherfordton passed away Friday, April 24, 2026.

     Dwayne was born in Buncombe County NC on September 30, 1957 to the late Clarence McKinney Stuart and Dorthea Ann Mashburn Hoss. He was a hard working, stubborn man who took pride in everything he did. He found joy in fast cars, owning a roofing business and the freedom of riding horses along with a good Barbecue with friends and family. He loved to tell stories of life experiences, throwing wise-cracks and sharing a good joke. He built his life with strength, determination and dedication. But nothing meant more to him that his family. He raised his children with tough love, wisdom and morals. Raising strong, independent daughters and hard working sons, his legacy will forever live on. Daddy you will forever be our superman.

     Along with his parents, Dwayne was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Mary Stuart; a brother Douglas Stuart and sister Karen Rowe.

     Those left to cherish his memory include 5 children, Steven Stuart (Shannon), Suzanne Ingle (Mathew), Elizabeth Reagan (Walter), Alisha Moore (Tremayne) and Ricky Ballew (Crystal), 2 brothers; Donald Stuart (Ann) and Kenneth Stuart. He had 22 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

     A celebration of life will be held at later date.
