Christine Martin Presnell

     Christine Martin Presnell, 85, of Marion, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Mountain Ridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Black Mountain.

     Christine was born in Yancey County, NC, on September 23, 1941, to the late Ben Martin and Lina Jane Higgins Martin. She was a hard worker who served for more than thirty years at Collins-Aikman and ten years with Continental-Teves. Christine attended Fairview Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with others. She loved to travel and took many tour bus trips across the country. Christine will always be loved and remembered by her family and many friends.

     In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by a brother, Buddy Higgins; and two sisters, Estella Pearce Schwartz and Hattie Stone Greene.

     Those left to cherish her memory include three children, Wes Presnell (Judy), Chris Presnell (Sharon), and Sharon Sargent (Eddie); five grandchildren, Brad Oliver, Brian Oliver, Cinnamon Williams, Lina Jane Presnell, and Paige Presnell; five great grandchildren, Kellie-Rae Williams, Kyle Oliver, Haley Oliver, Autumn Oliver, and Zoey Oliver; two special sisters, Rose Parkins and Bonnie Lavender; and a special nephew, Daniel Stone.

     A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 22, 2026, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Danny Forbes will officiate. Burial will follow at Nealsville Church of God Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
