Chester Wayne Conner

Mr. Chester Wayne Conner, age 42 of Lake Lure, passed away following a brief illness on the evening of Friday, October 11, 2019 at 5:22 P.M., at the UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill. The son of Mickey Conner and Linda Hudgins Conner, he was born on April 14, 1977.

Chester was known to be a free spirit, and a one of a kind wood worker and timber cutter. He had a big heart for everyone he came across, and always had a smile on his face. Chester will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Chester is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Charles and Dollie Conner; Maternal grandparents, Hubert and Bessie Hudgins; Larry Dale Conner, and Randy Conner.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his companion, Melania Burleson; a daughter, Noah Jane Conner; one brother, Ronnie Conner (Debra), and one sister Rhonda Elliott (Donnie). Also surviving are two nephews, Devin Conner, and Cobie Elliott; one niece, Haley Conner, as well as a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

A service to celebrate Chester’s life was held on Monday, October 14, 2019, at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service, officiated by his uncle Charlie Bailey. The family Received friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
