Charles Ree Radford

Charles Ree Radford, 81, passed away on the evening of Saturday, August 24, 2024 at his residence in Marion with family by his side.

Born in McDowell County on December 11, 1942, Charles was the son of the late Ernest Ree Radford and Jeanette Seaman Radford. 

Charles was known as a strong, hard-working man who enjoyed working in his wood pile. He had quite the green thumb, and he looked forward to planting and tending to his vegetable garden year after year. Above all else, Charles was a family man. He was fiercely devoted to his wife, his children, and his grandchildren. He had a very giving spirit, and it brought him the most joy to give to his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and three brothers, he was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Radford and Johnny Morgan.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 50 years, Mary Lou Bodford Radford; five children, Sharon Tucker, Ricky Morgan (Kathy), Glenda Smith (Ron), Ricky Radford (Kathy), and Stephanie Truett (Mitch); three brothers, Bim Radford (Debrayda), Bruce Radford, and Dennis Radford (Frances); seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the Radford home.
