Cathy Coker Sprinkle

Cathy Coker Sprinkle, 73, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Grace Hospital.

Cathy was born on January 20, 1951 in Olanta, SC to the late Paul Davis Coker and Maude Thornhill Phillips. Cathy was a Registered Nurse, and she worked in many departments at several health care institutions across Western North Carolina. McDowell, Grace, and Rutherford Hospitals were just some of these locations. Cathy enjoyed music, dancing, and the water, whether it was at the beach or the lake. She was a loving wife, married to her husband, Doug Sprinkle, for fifty years, mother, and Meh Meh. She was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church in Charleston, SC, and she attended Zion Hill Baptist Church in Marion. 

In addition to her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by her brother, Al Coker (Moe); and sister, Linda Ortiz (Willie).

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Doug Sprinkle; a son, Bryan Sprinkle (Crystal) of Clayton, NC; a daughter, Jennifer Gant (Duncan) of Marion; a brother, Keith Coker (Linda) of Cross, SC; four grandchildren who were her joys, Maddox Gant, Lincoln Sprinkle, Murphy Gant, and Harper Sprinkle; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Dr. Tom Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m.
