Carolyn Marie Bailey Stamey

Carolyn Marie Bailey Stamey, 64, of Nebo, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

She was born in Rutherfordton on May 18, 1959 to the late Grady Leroy Bailey, Jr. and Margaret Russell Bailey.

Carolyn was a faithful member of Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church. She retired from Baxter Healthcare following 25 years of service. She was known as a rock to her family and a blessing to all who knew her. She was sure in her faith and knew the best was yet to come.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Bobby Jay Stamey, Sr.; two children, Renee Stamey Massengale (Matt) and Bobby Stamey, Jr.; four grandchildren, Andy Massengale, Levi Massengale, Olivia Stamey, and Ellis Stamey; and a sister, Faye Williams.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Revs. T.J. Smith, Mike Fulbright, and T-Jay Addison officiating. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church.
