Carolyn Davis Parker, age 82, of Old Fort, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 12, 2026 at Givens Highland Farms in Black Mountain.
Carolyn was born on July 15, 1943 to the late Herbert R. and Emma Harris Davis.
She was a graduate of Glenwood High School and began her career at Old Fort Finishing. She married Floyd Parker on February 10, 1962. Floyd’s work took them to Scotland where they lived for eleven years. After returning from Scotland in 1976, they lived in Aiken, South Carolina for two years and then returned to Old Fort in 1978. Carolyn was the founder and owner of Slim Line Figure Salon in Marion and later worked at Coats American where she retired.
Carolyn had a heart of gold and always wanted to help someone in need. She loved to go shopping, travel, cook, can, and have meals with her extended family. She was an avid bowler for many years. Carolyn’s grandchildren were her pride and joy.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Floyd Parker; her son, Greg Parker and his wife, Becky; two grandchildren, Jared Parker and Makenna Parker; and two sisters, Debie McGaha and husband, Joe and Brenda Kayga and husband, John. She is also survived by several nieces and great nieces and cousins who were like her sisters.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 18, 2026 from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
