Carol Ann Walker

Carol Ann Walker passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 9, 2023 in her home surrounded by her loved ones. She succumbed to gastric cancer after being diagnosed in July of 2022.

She was born in Mt. Kisco, New York on July 4th, 1950 to John Ransom Rogge, and Marion Jane Moseman Rogge.

Carol was a proud resident of Avery County, North Carolina. She retired from a sales and design position with Classic Stone Works in Linville. After her retirement she was able to devote most of her time to her favorite hobby of picking antiques. Carol was passionate about finding those hidden gems, and made lasting friendships along the way. Carol had an antique booth at Hidden Treasures in Elk Park and often helped with operating the store. She was an avid art collector and especially appreciated the unique and colorful, just like her personality. Her gardens were full of whimsical sculptures and vibrant flowers. Her smile and laugh will be kept in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is survived by her two sons, Nicholas Walker (Neesha Pacheco) and Seth Walker; two grandchildren, Jude Walker and Lucy Walker; her sister, Deborah Franklin; and her niece, Katie Elder (Billy).

A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please send any donations to the Avery County Humane Society.
