Calvin Mance Freeman

Calvin Mance Freeman, age 83, of Freeman Town Road in Lake Lure, passed away Friday, May 22, 2026 at his home.

Born on December 19, 1942 in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late DeWitt M. and Evie Lee Logan Freeman.

Calvin was a member of the St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church. He was a self employed farmer and sold his produce at the Marion Tailgate Market. He was recognized for the high quality of his produce. He was an avid sports fan and two of his favorite teams were the Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Celtics. He also enjoyed watching western movies on t.v.

Left to cherish his memories are his children; Nigel Edgerton, Sonya Davis, Angela Freeman, and Caren Teonna Freeman, his sisters; Valorie McAlplin and husband, John Russell and Rosetta McLeod and husband, Howard, and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
