Buddy Fletcher Biggerstaff
Buddy Fletcher Biggerstaff, age 77, of Bay City, TX & formerly of Marion, NC passed into Heaven January 6th 2021 with his family by his side. Born April 18th, 1943 to the late Gordon & Winnie Biggerstaff, Buddy grew up in Avery County, NC with 11 brothers and sisters. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Vonnie, Carma Lee, Roger, Robert, Bill, Bruce, Jackie, & Joyce.
He was a proud veteran of the US Army. He was also a member of the Freemasons with the Mystic Tie Lodge. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Buddy worked for many years as a self employed contractor. He enjoyed gardening, good cooking, and spending time with his family; he especially enjoyed his reunions with family in NC. Buddy was known for helping anyone in need.
A true family patriarch, he is survived by his wife of 38 years, Maggie Biggerstaff; three daughters, Sharon Maney, Laura Cauthen (Mark), and Yesenia Hornback (Patrick); six grandchildren, Kristin Maney, Kari (Kason) Maney & Daniel Maney, Melody Fortune (Colten), Madison Cauthen, & Hunter Hornback; one great grandchild, Vincent Fortune; three sisters, Florence Smith, Marion Woodie, & Jean Catanzaro (Sam). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws, & special friends.
A memorial service in NC will be held at a later date.
In honor of Buddy, the family encourages you to go eat at your favorite local restaurant, do that home improvement project you've been waiting to do, spend quality time with your family, and live life to the fullest.
To Buddys family: we offer our condolences. We have known him for years, going to the same church and having the privilege of being friends. He was one of the good guys, always having a smile for everyone. He will be sorely missed in Bay City. Thanks for sharing him with us.
