Bruce Wayne Hollifield

Bruce Wayne Hollifield, age 78, of Pleasant Hill Estates in Marion, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at his home.

Born on December 2, 1947 in McDowell County, he was the son of the late Starling and Elsie Buchanan Hollifield. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Lois Ann Owensby Hollifield who passed away in 2020. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Ronald Dean Hollifield.

Bruce was a member of Mt. Calvary Freewill Baptist Church. He was a devoted husband, brother, father and grandfather. He loved his family, spending time with them and enjoyed eating meals with them. He was known as, ‘Pa-Paw’ to his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching Gunsmoke on T.V., fishing and taking trips to the beach.

Left to cherish his memories are his children; Teresa Holland and husband, Donald, Sherrie Robinson and husband, Kevin Perkins, Darren Hollifield and wife, Abby and Skylar Hollifield, his grandchildren; Riley, Audra, Dylan, Chloe, Taylor, Layla, and Cameron, his sisters; Ellen Hollifield and husband, Donald and Sue Duncan and his brother; S.W. Hollifield and wife, Janie.

The funeral service for Bruce Hollifield will be in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service at 11:00 am on Friday, August 14, 2026 with the Rev’s. Rick Wood and Charles Dicks officiating. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday, August 14, 2026. Interment will be in the McDowell Memorial Park.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Sarah Hollifield and the staff at CarePartners Hospice and to his neighbor, Steve Rosco for being such a good neighbor.
