Brian William Price

     Brian William Price, 55, of Newland, NC, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Watauga Medical Center in Boone.

     Brian was born in Fayetteville, NC on January 5, 1968, to the late William Vernon Price and Theda Harmon Price. He was married to Amy Jones Price and attended Grace Community Church in Marion. Brian was an avid App State fan and alumni. He was a former Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer and a recent retiree from the McDowell County School System. He enjoyed woodworking and tending to his farm animals. He was the director of McDowell United Fund and participated in many community organizations for the youth of McDowell County. He loved to travel and was a wonderful husband and father.

     In addition to his parents Theda and Billy, Brian was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Linda Jones.

     He is survived by his wife, Amy Jones Price; two sons, Avery Price and Mitchell Price; two sisters, Terry Arrowood (Ricky) and Kendall Liga (Mike); a brother, Philip Price (Kim); his father-in-law, Jimmy Jones; and a number of nieces and nephews.

     A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Grace Community Church 5182 US 70 Marion, NC 28752 with Rev. Jerry Lewis and Mr. Jimmy Jones will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunny Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., prior to the service at the Church.
