Brenda Kay Bradley Owenby

Brenda Kay Bradley Owenby, 62, of Rutherfordton, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the Upstate Community Hospice House in Landrum, South Carolina.

She was born in Rutherford County on September 9, 1963 to the late Rucker Loyd Bradley and Mary Daisy Greene Bradley. Brenda worked for over 30 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was very devoted to her work and was a true caregiver at heart. She loved her family wholeheartedly, and she will be remembered for always putting others first. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Bradley and Loyd Bradley; and a step-daughter, Sherry Johnson.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Owenby; two sons, Dwayne Lovelace (Amy) and Casey Lovelace; two step-daughters, Angie Wright (Ronnie) and Amy Arrowood (Sandy); nine grandchildren, Haley Bradley, Baileigh Lovelace, Gracelyn Lovelace, Elijah Lovelace, Amiya Millwood, Casey Sisk (Jordan), Joshua Wright, Brooke Sylvester (Adam), and Bryce Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Jentrie Sylvester and Judson Sylvester; two sisters, Linda Jackson (Doyle) and Barbara Andrews (Roger); and two brothers, Jerry Bradley and Dennis Bradley.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon at Bible Tabernacle in Ruth. A funeral service will follow at noon at the church. Burial will be at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
