Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Larry Bledsoe II of the home; two sisters, Evelyn Rose of Nebo and Verda Newton and husband Phil of Forest City; a brother, Rev. Harold Hutchins and wife Rita of Blackwell, Oklahoma; three nephews, Randy Newton and wife Tammy of Forest City, Nathan Rose and Haley of Nebo, and Wade Hutchins and wife Brandi of Oklahoma; two nieces, Rachel Hutchins and Elaine Hutchins, both of Oklahoma; her great nieces and nephews, Chloe and Gavin Newton, Brantley Rose, Gabriella, William, and Evelyn Hutchins. Brenda also leaves behind her fiancé, Donald Rouse.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service in Marion. Rev. Ray Ledford will officiate. Interment will follow at Big Crabtree Baptist Church Cemetery in Spruce Pine.

Brenda was my cousin-distant cousin but family nonetheless. Last year Brenda sent me information from her mamas family Bible telling how the Sparks' and Ledford's were related. She never failed to ask about all my family anytime I saw her. She will truly be missed on Earth, but all of Heaven is rejoicing.. My deepest sympathies and prayers to each member of Brenda's family

While reading the comments of my sister Anne, I was taken back to those years and events. After all ,I was the big brother and cousin, 6 years older. There are many wonderful things I could say but it just feels like this is the year that I have lost TWO sisters.

It doesn't seem possible to me that Brenda could have passed, she looked so pretty and so strong at the Ledford Reunion in June. She and I were born 18 days apart and I always teased her about being my younger cousin. We were very close growing up. I spent a week with her nearly every summer , that was my 'vacation', and she spent a week with me and that was her 'vacation'. That was a highlight of our year. We probably enjoyed those weeks as much or even more than richer children who had beach trips and such. I remember us picking blackberries and selling them to Mrs. Walter Thomas for one dollar a gallon, then taking our earnings to town on the Saturday and buying plastic sunglasses, nail polish, and a pack of Spearmint chewing gum. My did we evermore feel glamorous at church the next day. During the other months we kept in touch by mail. She was my friend and my confidant. It was not unusual for us to write 3 notebook pages front and back. As an adult Brenda was very much a FAMILY person. Just like Aunt Tassie before her, she truly cared about the news of others, and never missed a Decoration Day or a reunion. Gatherings will never be the same without her. Another reason to look forward to that Great Reunion Day. So ---Larry, Harold, Evelyn, , Verda and all the young ones--let us all do what the song says---" Press On, It Won't Be Very Long"

I am very sad to hear about the passing of Brenda. I worked with Her at Continental in Morganton NC. I considered Her at good Friend. I have been with her Son Larry for Many Years. I will be praying for the Family and especially her Son Larry! I know Brenda is with our Father in Heaven now and she is experiencing Everlasting life!
