Bonnie Edwards

Bonnie Edwards, a beloved sister, aunt, and great aunt, passed away peacefully at her residence on January 27, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on October 8, 1932, in Yancey County, Bonnie was a cherished member of her family and community.

Bonnie's nurturing spirit and love for her family were unmatched. She held a special affinity for children and was known for her warmth and kindness towards everyone she met. As a loving sister, she will be deeply missed by her siblings: Nina Rose Wilson, James Edwards (Louise), and Lonnie Edwards (Shirley). Additionally, she leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews who adored her.

In her leisure time, Bonnie found joy in sewing and quilting, transforming fabric into beautiful creations. Her passion for working in flowers brought her immense satisfaction, and she had a particular fondness for collecting dolls. Bonnie was a longtime member of Rocky Pass FWB Church.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert Edwards and Elzie McCurry Edwards, who instilled in her a strong sense of family values and the importance of caring for one another. She is also preceded by her brother, John Edwards and two sisters, Lena Lovelace and Foy Crowder.

A visitation will be held in her honor on January 30, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, with the Rev. Alan Sailors and Rev. David Edwards officiating the service. The service will be at the Rocky Pass Free Will Baptist Church, located at 6995 Harmony Grove Rd, Nebo, NC, 28761. Burial will follow at Rocky Pass Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bonnie Edwards will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of those who knew her. She truly exemplified what it means to be a devoted family member, and her legacy of love will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to cross her path.
