Bobby Joe Kincaid, known to his friends as, “Stump,” passed away at his residence in Nebo, on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the age of 88.
Bobby was born in Sandstone, West Virginia on December 22, 1936, to the late Elsie and Layton Kincaid. He was married to the late Thelma Kincaid, his wife of more than fifty years. Bobby served his country proudly in the United States Army and later retired as a millwright after 35 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church in Morganton and was always known to be a hard worker. He enjoyed woodworking, deck sitting, and volunteered regularly at South Mountain Family Camp in Casar, NC. Bobby enjoyed trips to the beach, but most of all, he loved Jesus and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife and parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his step father, Sampson Lilly; a brother, Mick Kincaid; and two sisters, Betty and Ethel “Sis.”
Those left to cherish his memory include three children, Robert Kent Kincaid (Laura), Kelly Paluscsak (Tom), and Amie Webster (Nik); and six grandchildren, Andrea Paluscsak, Alyssa Kincaid, Lindsey Paluscsak, Joe Kincaid, Ezra Propst-Kincaid, and Emma Byrd.
A funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Gibbs Chapel in Morganton. Rev. Chris Uren will officiate. Burial will follow at the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the Church.
