Betty Taylor Snyder Foster, a cherished member of the Victory Temple Full Gospel Church, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026, at Mission Hospital McDowell at the age of 92. Born on February 26, 1934, in Mitchell County, she lived a life marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and her community.
Betty dedicated many years to her career, first working at Galey Lord for an impressive 33 years. Following that, she served at Walmart for 27 years before retiring. Her work ethic and commitment were unwavering, and she took pride in her contributions throughout her professional life.
A woman of many interests and talents, Betty found joy in creating diamond art, immersing herself in Amish books, and solving puzzles. Betty enjoyed cooking especially for her family and friends. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel extensively, having visited nearly every state in the country. These pursuits brought her great happiness and fulfilled her love for discovery and creativity.
Above all else, Betty loved her family deeply. She is survived by her beloved sons Hank Taylor and his wife Denise, Van Taylor, and her daughter Carol Worley and her husband Ray. Her legacy extends to her grandchildren: Cameron Taylor and his wife Debbie, Jeremey Taylor and his wife Christy, Chad Worley and his wife Tanya, Nathan Worley and his wife Mandy, Lisa Worley Mull and her husband Richard, Brianna Mayfield, and Scott Taylor and his wife Tori; thirteen great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; special friend Allen, who all carry forward her spirit in their lives.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dailey Greene Buchanan; her former husbands, Carroll Taylor, GR Snyder, and Lonnie Foster; and her grandson, Derek Taylor. Their memories remain a treasured part of her story and are lovingly held by her family.
A visitation to honor Betty’s memory will be held on Saturday April 18, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Beam Celebration Center. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 19 at 3:00 p.m. at the Victory Temple Full Gospel Church, located at 7987 NC-226 in Nebo, North Carolina with Revs. Pete McComb, Dr. Tom Walker and Brian Bird officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
