Bessie Faye Bishop Bridges

Bessie Faye Bishop Bridges passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Mission McDowell. She was born on December 27, 1935 in Pickens County, South Carolina to the late Joseph Bishop and Nannie Bell Jones Pate.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bobby” David Bridges.

Bessie was a member of Pelham Road Baptist Church and was a retired teacher’s aide following thirty years of service. She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother and was known for her infectious smile and laugh.

She is survived by three children, Robert “Bob” David Bridges, Jr. and wife Betty, Billy “Bill” Lee Bridges and wife Lori and Ann Bridges; one brother, Fred Bishop; one sister, Ruth Lesley (Randy); six grandchildren, Bailey Bridges (Dustin Guyton), David Bridges (Tzu Fang Wang), James Gillett, Taylor Bridges (Kenzie), Laura Gillett-Roper (Zachary) and Blake Bridges (Kathy). Also surviving Bessie are great-grandchildren, Zinn and Evey Bridges, Kadence Guyton, Leo Roper and another one due in July.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 20, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Brushy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 4999 Old Spartanburg Road, Taylors, South Carolina 29687 with Reverend John Roy officiating.
